Does PhotoDove work between iPhone and Android?
Yes — and further than that. PhotoDove is a handover between any two phones: iPhone to Android or Android to iPhone, but also iPhone to iPhone or Android to Android, near or far apart like a remote AirDrop. No matching ecosystem, and no AirDrop or Quick Share required.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up, no email, no password and no pairing. You pick photos, release a dove, and hand over the QR when you're close or a link when you're far. Whoever holds it receives the photos.
Are the photos really full quality?
Yes — full-quality originals. What your phone hands over is what lands in their library, metadata included: PhotoDove doesn't recompress it, and our servers can't even read it.
Is it encrypted? Can PhotoDove see my photos?
Every photo is end-to-end encrypted on your phone before it leaves. The key travels only inside the QR or link, never to our servers — so the clouds carry only ciphertext they cannot read. We can't see your photos; it's structural, not just a promise.
How long do photos stay in the clouds?
At most an hour, and usually far less. The moment they're received, the copy is deleted from the clouds; landed or not, nothing survives past the one-hour limit. You can also call a dove back to delete it early.
Is PhotoDove free?
Yes, for photos. Sending full-quality photos is free. Premium adds video and a few extras, but receiving is always free — anyone you hand a link to lands it with nothing to buy.
Do both phones need to be on the same Wi-Fi?
No. Close by, scan the QR; far apart, send the link through any app. PhotoDove works across any distance and any network — it's not local-only transfer.
